Very few Malaysian journalists have the opportunity to work abroad, and even fewer have a chance to work in conflict zones or war-torn countries. P. Vijian worked for the national news service locally before he was sent to set up a bureau in India’s capital New Delhi. He’s covered the end of the war in Sri Lanka, the Mumbai attack and the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. Vijian then moved to the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul. The urge for new experiences and to learn drives him, he says.
